Granitas are originally from Sicily, but are now enjoyed all over the world, which you can see from this delicious tropical version! They are icy-cool and extremely refreshing - perfect for summer days! We love the Tropical Green Tea mixed with healthy, beachy ingredients. This is a great guilt-free dessert or snack!
Step 1 - Bring water to a boil and steep green tea for 4-5 minutes, then strain out leaves or remove bags. Cool in fridge for 30 minutes.
Step 2 - Blend papaya, Mango Balsamic, honey, and tea in blender until completely smooth, avoiding chunks as much as possible - an uneven purée will inhibit the granita process.
Step 3 - Pour into shallow dish and place in freezer. After 50-60 minutes, scrape dish with a fork, creating ice crystals that will reform each time you scrape them. Continue every 30-40 minutes, scraping with a fork for 2-3 hours or until completely frozen and flaky. Serve in chilled glasses on a perfectly hot day!
